Zhakita cake Designz is also the home of Zhakita Samoyeds.
My Husband Eugene and I have had Samoyeds since 1992 and as a child Eugene
grew up through his childhood with Samoyeds as family pets.
In
1991 we got our first Samoyed together Zhan (Nanook of Starglow), a
beautiful handsome boy that fulfilled all that we had ever thought a
Samoyed could be. He was a delightful (if not a little naughty at
times) Sam with the gorgeous Samoyed traits. In 1994 our son Antony was
born and Zhan was to prove the best "big brother" and special "minder"
of this precious wee bundle that had arrived home. Antony and Zhan were
wonderful together and a true testament to the Samoyed's family
characteristics. Antony learned to walk with Zhan as his steady
leaning post and later to become his fetch the ball companion.
Sadly in April 2003 our dear old man passed away, we were devastated, he
had touched everyone that met him, our life was empty without that
special Sammy in our home.
By chance I made enquiries with the Auckland Samoyed Club and was put in
contact with Jude McCormick of Silvertips Samoyeds who had a litter of 7
beautiful boys and another chapter of our lives was opening.
NZ Champion Silvertips Cosmic Storm "Meika" arrived to become a part of
our family. What a character he is; full of charm and comic with that
same gorgeous temperament and nature as Zhan. Meika has proved a stunning
show dog as well as the all important family member. He has done well in
the show ring and excelled at the all important "specialty shows" that
prove beyond doubt the quality of his type and breeding. Even at the age
of 6 years he still can manage best of breed at All Breed show level.

When Meika was one year old we welcomed another Silvertips Samoyed into
our family, a very special girl who was the precious only bitch from a
litter of 5 boys after Meika's litter of 7 boys. Well this little
madam
made herself at home straight away and her big brother became her faithful
but obedient minder as she asserted herself clearly as "leader of the
pack". Paris, "NZ Champion Silvertips Destiny's Angel" like her big brother,
has done us proud in the ring and gained her title at an early age
competing head on with her two glamorous litter brothers Merlin and Bolan.
Paris is a sound correct bitch of beautiful type, recently winning Best in
Show at the APSA specialty open Show.
As a committee member for three years of the Auckland Provincial Samoyed
Club, I also help with the Sam care programme which involves saving
Samoyeds left in Auckland pounds who are unclaimed and fostering them until homes
are found. I am clearly "useless" at fostering as after fostering a
very young nervous 6 month old pup for two weeks and two years later we
still have him!! Ha ha!! Tobi had a dreadful start to life
after spending the three of six months of life living in the
local pound with his litter brothers and sisters after a "reckless
breeding" went wrong. Tobi and his litter and older siblings were seized
by the pound. He was a wreck when he arrived and it has taken lots of love
and reassurance for Tobi to now become the lovable happy member of the family that
he is today. Although so different in type to our other Sams, he is loved
completely.

Five months after Tobi's arrival, our planned litter of Paris's first
babies arrived safe and well. Three beautiful little girls and four
chunky boys. Paris was the perfect mum, whelping without hassle or fuss
and the ideal doting mother.
Maya, "Zhakita Heavenly Scent" was pick girl and went to our dear
friend Wendy who owns Koda "Silvertips Take A Wild Ride" and the pups'
father. Maya is a beautiful bitch and although not shown a lot,
she was awarded Baby Puppy in Show at the Taranaki All Breeds show at
the age of 4 months. Maya gained her first challenge certificate
not long after that. Recently Maya won Best Limit in show
at the Samoyed specialty show, competing with bitch's and dogs much
older than herself.

Luka, "Zhakita Celestial Knight" was chosen as pick dog of the litter and is
character plus...a gorgeous chunky boy as a baby and a true little show
man.
Like Maya, he too collected a Baby Puppy in Show just before he turned
4 months as well as Puppy in show at the Samoyed Specialty 2008.
Luka
is a gorgeous character with an intoxicating sense of humour...like his
mother he is full of himself and full of spark enjoying every visiting
Samoyed and person alike. We are looking forward to seeing this boy's full
potential as he grows and matures and we are excited by his progress to date.
Our other 5 puppies Kaizer, Willow, Rhanandi, Nikita and Casper all have
super homes with wonderful families that adore them. We are proud to
maintain contact with them and can follow the progress and milestones of our pups through the years.
Through meeting Jude McCormick we have developed a beautiful friendship
built on honesty and love and are forever grateful for her advice,
wonderful humour and in trusting us above all with two of her precious
Katie "NZ Champion Sunmist lucky By Destiny" puppies that have become our
foundation dogs and our family.
We occasionally have puppies available to approved loving homes, our next
litter will be expected later this year.
